Hi, I recently attempted to buy FIFA 16 and a few classic titles on Origin. I got an email stating my order was being processed, but it could take up to 48 hours. This situation is frustrating. I’m concerned about Origin’s reliability since I previously tried purchasing The Sims 3 there a couple of years ago—my transaction failed completely, and the support team couldn’t clarify the issue. Another odd detail is the currency displayed; while my region shows prices in CFA francs, most services list them in USD or EUR, which feels inconsistent. Origin even lists prices in South African Rands, which seems like a mistake. It sounds like they’re assuming I’m from South Africa. Meanwhile, friends in France report higher prices for similar games after currency conversion. Also, Origin doesn’t accept PayPal, which is surprising. I’m wondering if payment problems have been reported before and whether it’s best to abandon this purchase and switch to Steam instead.
They accept PayPal and might need credit card verification. I haven’t run into many problems, except for being unable to purchase anything on my account. Origin support has been excellent. This seems like something worth keeping... *CoughcoughSteamCoughcough*
I've never experienced a payment problem with the origin since I never purchased anything from them. However, when a friend shared a code for Burnout Paradise and I used it, it vanished after a few months. I was really upset and stopped using origins afterward.
I've always experienced smooth service with Origin—no payment worries there. Steam is a different story altogether.
Why do folks adore steam so much? For payment matters, I'm taken aback—it's EA's top focus when releasing games.
