Hey everyone, I hope you can assist me with this issue. My first PC isn’t booting into BIOS, and I see a bright orange light on the motherboard near the RAM sticks. I’ve checked the motherboard manual which mentions booting problems. Here are my specs: motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix B450-F gaming, CPU: Ryzen 5 2600, GPU: RX 580 by Gigabyte WindForce, RAM: Vengeance LPX 2x8 GB at 3000MHz, PSU: Gigabyte GP-G750H, plus an NVMe SSD and a 2TB HDD. I swapped out the PSU to Corsair CX 550M and tried different RAM (G.Skill Trident Z RGB 2666 MHz), but the problem persists. I still don’t get any signals to my monitor, and the orange light remains. I bought the CPU from an outlet, so it might have been damaged, though I’m not sure. The CPU is the last thing I’d change. I noticed the DRAM module in the motherboard has a malfunction indicator light, but I’m unsure how to fix that. Also, I’ve tried three different RAM brands and the issue continues. I just managed to fix it by straightening some bent pins on the motherboard with a razor. Thanks for your help!
Ensure the memory is placed in the proper sockets. This is important. Consult your user guide for guidance.
Have you experimented with varying the RAM placement, as this sometimes resolves issues? Also, are you connecting the video output to the GPU instead of the motherboard? Edit: I also observed the 6-Pin Connector isn’t installed on your GPU—could that be the cause or was it previously connected?
