The BIOS doesn't directly indicate the number of cores it detects. You might consider installing a Linux ISO, writing it to a USB drive, and then booting from there to check the core count.
Dude thats weird, you could try and find a cheap secondhand board on marktplaats. I actually wanna know the problem now and maybe the solution
