Thank you for your response. I appreciate the clarification. The issue seems to be with the GPU and CPU performance during gaming, even after updates. The server @unclewebb explained it, but I’m still experiencing low GPU activity and high CPU load. I tried updating Windows and the GPU driver, and using an older version of NVIDIA 528.02, but the problem persists. You can review the TLOU screenshot above—it matches the issue across all tested games. Note: No background processes are running.

It severely affects every CPU, as it keeps decompressing textures during playback. Usage reached 80% on the P cores.

I meant you should revert to a driver version from six months or a year prior. Your system performed fine back then, but something has changed. If this issue occurs across all games, the shared factor is likely the Nvidia driver.

This occurs consistently across various titles I play, including God of War, Spider-Man, Hogwarts, and the Resident Evil 4 remake.

@unclewebb Yes it's a version from January 5, 2023, it's more than 8 months since its release.

Sure, I can help with that. Here are some typical scenes from Hogwarts and Spider-Man, along with examples of how they might look in screenshots. Let me know if you'd like more details!

Here you are, all visuals set to High-Ultra quality, with FSR and DLSS disabled.

It was mostly the same CPU as the 10600K, but the real reason for upgrading was with the 8700K.

you're welcome. and what im trying to say is, that yes this isnt ideal, but a cpu bottleneck never is, you can try these power limit settings or whatever, but its likely there will remain a cpu bottleneck, in which case you would need a faster cpu to fix that. some games are just cpu heavy high cpu (around 90) means gpu doesn't get instructions fast enough and cant be utilized fully therefore, there typically isn't really a "fix" for that.

Hi, I tried matching the same CPU and thought I could share my solution just in case you're still facing issues. Open Task Manager, navigate to the game you're playing, and adjust the affinity so core 0 is turned off. This usually helps with most titles. Keep in mind this won't work for games that use anti-cheat software since it blocks those settings. In my experience, I fixed a problem with Elden Ring by disabling Easy Anti Cheat (EAC). The truth is, the 10th generation hardware wasn’t built with players in mind. I recently upgraded to an AMD CPU and it’s been a game-changer for me. I’ll never use Intel again. If you're curious about why this works, it's because most games only use one core at a time, not multithreading. For some systems, core 0 is the default, so disabling it lets the game use a different core that isn’t actively needed. The performance on my machine is poor with 10600 due to its low per-core efficiency, which causes the issue. By stopping core 0, the game can utilize other cores more effectively. You might want to check Task Manager for accurate core usage stats—monitoring shows a clearer picture than just seeing high usage. If you need to force a specific core, you can disable others, but be aware that Intel’s design includes multiple cores for both performance and multitasking. Using a multitasking core usually drops performance further. Hope this helps someone with the same setup!
