You're puzzled because your GPU isn't reaching the expected usage despite high CPU load. It seems like the GPU is struggling to keep up, possibly due to cooling issues or thermal throttling. Even though your CPU is only around 30%, the GPU temperatures are still elevated (78°C), and it's not performing as smoothly as before. You're concerned about stuttering and limited performance, so you're considering cooling fixes, but you're unsure if that will help.
Destiny 2 on a 7700k with DRP4 installed. It's an older setup, but I was hoping for better performance now. The 1050 Ti worked well with a 2600X in another system, and single-threaded speeds were lower back then. It also performed as expected in a case with just one intake fan. This new case has three fans. I guess the newer board provided more power to the card—it lacks a dedicated power cable. Though it felt like a $470 Z270E board, so I'm not sure—just shrugs. Based on this, I should see similar results to the previous system. [Links provided]
After further testing, it appears the issue occurs across all games. The GPU consistently stays below 45% even when the CPU runs at 15-30% and temperatures drop under 69°C. It’s puzzling why this thread shut down so quickly. I’m unsure what I did incorrectly or what caused the problem. I’ve already checked the GPU drivers, but any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.
