Hi, I've been using an old Lenovo laptop with a NVIDIA GeForce G105M GPU. It shuts down when the GPU temperature hits 104°C. Even with three to four browser tabs open, the temperature goes above 95°C. I changed the thermal paste, but it didn't help. Screenshots were taken while using Firefox with multiple tabs. Thanks for your assistance ahead of time.

Turn off hardware acceleration in the browser settings for a temporary fix. The temperatures seem normal—GPU usage isn’t at 56%. Check for malware and see if the fans are running properly.

Thanks for the support! It seems the fans are running smoothly now after the Windows update. I’m not sure if it’s connected to overclocking, underclocking, or a driver issue—maybe a simple check would help.

Looks like a hardware problem rather than an issue with the software or operating system.

However, I've just changed the thermal paste, and the fans are now working correctly.

Also removed the dust. Was it more severe following the paste application?

I removed all the dust, but it was really bad! At first it shut down fast, but now it runs for a while before stopping. If you put pressure on it slightly, it stops working completely.

No, I didn't enable hardware acceleration.

I managed to improve it slightly, though the temperature dropped a bit. If it stops working with other apps, what should I try next?

Did you remove the old thermal paste completely before applying a fresh layer? Verify the heatsink or cooler is firmly secured again—any wobble can cause poor heat transfer and elevated temps. Also, check if dust has damaged the fans already.
