You might achieve solid download and upload rates but still face slow response times and data loss, especially over Wi-Fi. As noted, using a wired connection is strongly advised and should be done at least briefly before diving into further troubleshooting, since it’s likely to resolve the problem.
I've tested the wired connection and it works fine, but lag remains and the keyboard feels unresponsive even though the computer is slow. This issue has been ongoing for a few weeks and I'm unsure how to fix it.
I'm not sure about your setup—do you have a wired keyboard and mouse or a wireless one?
did it and still displayed slow performance, perhaps you overlooked mentioning the second screen i used for youtube. i've had the computer for a year now, and three weeks ago the issue began. i could watch youtube and play ark without problems until three weeks prior. what's going on now (this lag is bothersome)?
alright, that's good to know. 1. do any of the games lag when you dont have anything else running on the second screen 2. have you updated your graphics card recently 3. do you have a resource monitoring program. (resource monitor can work but something a little more hefty would be preferable) 4. When you boot into bios is all your hardware showing up properly? (ram, gpu, etc)
Yes, the game would lag when there was nothing running on the second screen.
Yes, my graphics card is up to date.
No, I don’t have a resource monitoring tool.
I’m about to check it now.
