I got a Samsung Expert X23 laptop back a few years ago and it worked great all the time. Now I've stopped using it for a while and when I turn it back on, it feels slow and underpowered. The specs are: an i5 7th gen CPU with a GTX 920MX card and 8GB of RAM. That's not top-tier hardware, but it used to handle some heavy games at low settings. Now, nothing runs even at the lowest settings; the best games seem to run around 10 frames per second instead of what they should do. I tried checking if Windows was using the right graphics card and turned on different power plans, then restarted the whole computer. Nothing helped. My task manager shows high CPU usage with no programs running that could cause it. Any suggestions for fixing this?
I'm talking about a Samsung 970 EVO M2 that is basically brand new and probably not the culprit here.

I am using Windows 10 and it has been updated to the newest version. My hard drive is completely empty; I still have 420 gigabytes free from a total capacity of 460 gigabytes.
