Typically, issues can be resolved by simply turning the device off and then allowing it to settle. However, the internal components still retain some energy. You should first shut it down and let the capacitors fully discharge before attempting to restart it. [1] This method doesn’t apply to CRTs since their capacitors can maintain charge for extended periods.
