Could the issue be related to Windows Aero? It seems your system unexpectedly shut down and then brought back, while you accessed the desktop. I've configured it to turn off automatically when launching your games (using the .exe).

Consider right-clicking the game files, navigating to the compatibility section, and enabling the "disable visual themes" option. Then launch the game to see if it improves performance.

Click the games with ".exe" files, open properties, navigate to compatibility settings, enable disabling visual themes, and launch the game. Check if this resolves the issue.

I haven't tried it before, but I'll give it a shot. Hopefully it works! Thanks for your help!

I attempted that after seeing something similar on another forum. When I tried it, DLLs and registries loaded but there was an error and they couldn<|pad|> to locate. That’s why I fixed them and restored everything, yet the issue persisted! Yes, I have NVIDIA’s newest driver installed. ForceWare 310.70 automatically updates its drivers.

Hey there, I believe I fixed the issue on my system. I tried two approaches, one helped and the other didn’t quite work. First, I installed Razer Game Booster, which turns certain Windows features off during game launch and includes a diagnostic tool to check for system errors. When I ran it, it showed some incorrect timestamps, making it hard to tell if they were affecting game minimization. Then I played my games for a while, which was a long afternoon. After that, I opened Windows Event Viewer and found an error linked to a background process from AutoCAD—actually a downloader client. I removed it since I didn’t need that feature anymore, and minimization stopped. I’m sure you’ll encounter other problems, but this method helped me out. Good luck!

I encountered an issue that turned out to be a background program. I’m not sure what else might be causing it, but that should help.

I also believe the issue stems from background software that takes attention away, which is why I previously recommended using a process monitor to identify the program running right before the game or browser closes.

Review the earlier section of the list since DLL and registry files don't load automatically.

Great job! I’m glad you found the issue. Using the event viewer helped me spot the problem with Bonjour and the Apple updater. I’ll uninstall it and see if that fixes things. Thanks again for your support!
