I recently installed a new 144hz 1440p monitor and upgraded my GPU to a 1080ti. Despite these changes, some games still freeze while others run smoothly. I've updated the drivers and used a cleaner, but the issue persists.

Confirm driver compatibility with GPU and CPU, verify BIOS and OS status, and share complete system details.

I use the newest drivers, running Windows 10. My hardware includes an I7-7700 GTX 1080ti with 16GB RAM, an MSI Z270 A Pro graphics card, and two monitors—a 1440p at 144Hz and a 1080p at 75Hz. I noticed the game runs smoothly after turning off and back on the second monitor during startup, but I’m still trying to figure out why the issue persists so I can fix it permanently.

You can check your system details by searching for "system information" in the search bar. It will show you the BIOS version installed. For updates, visit the latest download link provided. Possible fixes include adjusting monitor power settings to "high performance" and setting graphics options accordingly. Also, ensure display settings have a main display option enabled. If these steps don’t help, it may relate to your PSU model. What is your PSU’s make and model?

I received a Cooler Masterwatt lite 600 Watt 80+ unit. My BIOS was installed at the start of 2017; perhaps an update would be wise.

Check if your system is running at maximum performance. If issues arise, consider a restart or reboot. Perform a stress test to verify stability under standard settings before making changes.
