Hi, I've just reinstalled Windows 10 and noticed that when logging in with my Microsoft account, my first name appears on the lockscreen while my last name is hidden. Anyone know how to make only the first name show? Thanks.

Updated to Windows *** Your choice is to create a local account. This offers more control over settings, such as using just the username instead of the full name. You can also opt out of using a password. Alternatively, you may update your Microsoft account's last name to a different symbol.

Consider updating your last name in the linked Microsoft account using an empty Unicode character. You might also switch the username in Windows and make the reg key that holds the full name read-only to prevent changes made by your Microsoft account during login. This guide explains the process here: https://superuser.com/a/947984/1243039. I haven’t tried it myself and can’t confirm any issues, so proceed at your own risk.

In my situation, I changed my last name to a Unicode symbol. You can press the tiny down arrow or enter several Unicode spaces, which appears to work on the web form. Look for the position above in Charmap using the Segoe UI font, double-click all empty circles, and then paste them into the online "Edit Name" field for your Microsoft account.
