My home network setup is a bit unusual. The router is on the floor, while my PC is upstairs. I can't easily connect an Ethernet cable directly, so I'm using an adapter that links to Wi-Fi and then converts it to a standard Ethernet connection for my PC. I recently added a Wi-Fi extender close to my PC and wondered if switching my adapter's source from the router to the extender would help. This might seem simple, but I'm still getting the basics of networking.

You seem confused about the suggestions. Here are the options you provided:

- ROUTER → Wifi extender → PC - Wifi dongle / card
- ROUTER → Power Line Ethernet → PC (ethernet)
- Depending on the house powerline wire installation, you might be better with a PoE bridge
