OS: Windows 11 64 bit GPU: GeForce GTX 1660 Super CPU: Intel i5 11600K Baseboard manufacturer: Biostar Group Baseboard product: Z590GTA My download speed is limited (around 6-9 Mbps for reference, usually about 100 Mbps). My Ethernet keeps shutting off for a few seconds—about 4 to 5 times in half an hour. None of the other devices on my network are experiencing the same issue. I connected the Ethernet cable to a router and then to my phone; it worked fine. At first, I suspected a virus, ran scans, but nothing was found. I thought about wiping my SSD using Windows’ default method, but after that it still didn’t work. Then I reinstalled the driver, but it failed again. I tried an Ethernet-to-USB adapter, which also didn’t help. This suggests a software problem, though I already wiped the SSD—so I’m unsure what else to try. Could the virus have been deleted or reset?

Go around the router and connect straight to the modem to check for changes.

If a direct link and a full system reset didn’t resolve the problem, it could point to a hardware fault. Consider checking or replacing the network card. If there are no available ports, a USB adapter might work as an alternative.
