Hello, since I set up my PC two months ago, I've noticed sudden lag spikes. My video stutters or freezes completely, and the audio feels delayed. At first, I thought it was due to heavy gameplay, but now it happens even when watching YouTube. It doesn't occur often, but it's unsettling. I'm unsure if it's related to how I connected my hardware or if my GPU isn't compatible. I searched online for similar issues but didn't find anyone with the same problem. Check if these spikes coincide with high CPU or GPU activity. If they do, identify the cause behind the increased usage.
You might not have the Task Manager running or you could be playing a game and won’t notice it.
It might be a background app consuming lots of processing power, leading to slow performance. Alternatively, a malfunctioning wait state could make CPU usage appear low while it waits unnecessarily. No noticeable shift in CPU consumption. GPU temperatures remain stable. Fans aren't being restricted in any way.
I was playing the game when it happened I clicked on tabs in Task Manager, but there was no change in CPU or temperature. I’m not sure if I’m checking the wrong area.
Use Display Driver Uninstaller to remove and reinstall drivers from the beginning. My previous setup with an old GPU caused freezing issues, making it hard to keep the PC running. The reset button didn’t work, and re-seating the GPU or RAM seemed necessary. Sometimes slight vibrations could loosen contact points, affecting performance.
