I received an MSI Z170A Gaming M5 motherboard and when I pressed power it immediately turned off, spun like it was about to act but then shut down again. I went through all the troubleshooting advice, but I’m unsure what to do. The link you shared appears to be a video showing what’s happening.

It's a Core i7-7700KF with Corsair DDR4 2x16GB at 3200Mhz, paired with a stock cooler and a GTX 980. I understand everything functions properly since I used a different setup before.

Consider trying the RAM in the second and fourth slots. It should be available.

I'm not sure if the BIOS on the board is compatible with the 7700K. A BIOS update might be necessary. Also, verify the CMOS battery since it seems to be likely dead based on the system's age.

I've used the CMOS battery, but it doesn't remain active long enough to load the BIOS when I press the power button. It turns off right away as seen in the linked video.

Consider using another power source and testing by touching the power button pins with a screwdriver instead. Likely the circuit board is faulty.

I don’t have another power source ready for testing, and I’m keeping my other PC intact since replacing its power supply would be quite complex.
