I just applied a minor security patch on Windows, which was only a few KB. Then it restarted and suddenly 3 gigabytes of storage space vanished. I only retain at least one restore point. There’s no hibernation enabled, and my drive seems to vanish when nothing is active. What’s causing the space to disappear on my OS drive? I lost 9 gigabytes of data in a day without installing or downloading anything. EDIT: Using a space sniffer revealed the problem—it was shadow files, and they were reconfigured after consuming 100 GB of data.
