Recently in CS:GO my ping jumped unexpectedly, staying above 250 regardless of the game mode. I used to play around a steady 20. Anyone else notice this trend or have similar experiences?

Verify that no other devices on the network are accessing the internet. Be aware that checking your phone for updates or sending emails can create traffic spikes. Ensure your computer isn’t having any applications interfere with internet usage. Confirm there aren’t any background processes consuming internet bandwidth. If the problem persists, it might relate to your network service provider or server.

Consider sticking to your preferred subjects to get alerts when someone replies. Run pingtest.net for testing. Are you connected via WiFi or wired connection? Is there a recent Windows update or driver available? Have you powered off your PC (some users forget this step, which can lead to issues)? Also verify the servers you’re using; if you’re routed through an EU server from NA, it might cause problems.

Ping results show latency spikes; online games run faster than 300ms. Windows updates are current, but drivers might need checking. Restarting daily helps. To verify if you're on an EU server versus NA, check your IP address settings or use a tool like whatismyip.com.

Thank you for your input; it seems the issue now lies with Charter.

You haven’t used CS lately, yet it’s likely there’s a maximum ping option in the settings menu.
