I have a 32GB RAM with 3600MHz, and everything was working fine after setting XMP. But later today I changed some settings and something about the RAM speed caused issues. The PC wouldn't boot, so I removed the CMOS battery but that didn’t help. I noticed the CPU lights came on and one RAM stick lit up, so I tried taking out that stick, but it still wouldn’t work. Then I only removed two sticks and it didn’t fix anything. Please help me.

No, I did not leave the PSU on while removing the CMOS battery.

I gave the sticks a bit more use. With two, it worked. Now that I'm using all four, it doesn't start up and one of them keeps flashing red. I think the issue is with that stick.

No, it doesn't function independently.

I haven't attempted that. I'll complete it in five minutes.

I invested 150 dollars (sorry Linus) only to make it last three hours and then stop

Irritating issue arises as many items experience minor issues upon delivery or early failure; it seems someone must always be the one to replace them. The hassle increases when kits aren't properly matched, requiring returns for replacement.

I discovered this the hard way. The issue is they lack the identical items in inventory. The stores that carry them offer either two 16GB units or four 8GB units, but at a higher cost.

I'm really puzzled about this situation. Today, while trying to install the RAM sticks again, I installed the one that was closest to the CPU because I thought that slot would be more reliable. It started working fine, but it still shows a red light indicating a problem. For now, it functions, so I'll keep an eye on it and hope this forum stays active. If I run into any more issues, I'll return it.

It's possible to fit the CPU cooler too snugly, which can lead to memory problems—especially on Intel platforms, though it might vary depending on your setup.
