Hi, I bought a new laptop running Windows 10 Home Single Language. Cortana initially worked well but stopped responding after a while. She only gives basic answers like "What can you do?" or "Tell me a joke." When I ask her to schedule an appointment or set an alarm, she keeps saying "I'm sorry I can't help with that." I checked for updates on the store and Windows Update, but nothing fixed the issue. I signed up for Windows Insider hoping a beta update would improve things, but it still can’t launch apps. Could you help me resolve this? Thanks.

Did you attempt to reboot the machine?

Did you attempt to install pirated software? Many fake sites exist and might endanger your system. This isn't just about the software itself—issues like a corrupted registry, malware, or fake programs (such as counterfeit antivirus or free Robux generators) can also cause problems.

Apologies for being absent. This laptop is brand new, and I haven't set up any software yet. I'm currently just using Steam and Ghost Recon Wildlands.

You're welcome! It's good to know you're correct. Just remember, appointments and reminders need an active Microsoft account on your device. Sign in if needed.
