Hello, your internet speed update from 40mbps to 400mbps didn’t improve. With two routers, one supports 5G and works well, while the other caps at 80mbps regardless of settings. It seems the issue might be with the second router or its configuration. Check if you need to adjust any TPLink settings or consider switching to a different plan.

The second device uses an Archer C20 with dual-band 5GHz capability, indicating it likely handles speeds over 100Mbps.

Several customers reported slow performance, noting speeds rarely exceed 100mbps.

However, it only supports 100m LAN and a few ports, which accounts for the speed restrictions. Upgrade to a gigabit router for maximum performance. The wireless connection doesn't match the wired speeds.

Using a 25-meter cable to link your main router to your PC could work, but ensure the connection is stable for optimal performance.

Using a Cat6 cable with a gigabit router is possible. Ethernet ports 1 for 10/100 Mbps, 4 LAN ports for 10/100 Mbps. Maximum speed is 100 megabits per second.

It seems your router only handles speeds up to 100 Mbps, not 5 GHz.

WiFi can transmit over 100mbps, yet it doesn't connect to devices on the LAN or WAN. The speed of WiFi is unrelated to other network connections.

Having Wi-Fi capable of over 100 Mbps isn't useful if the router's WAN port is capped at 100 Mbps. It can't transfer data faster than 100 Mbps, so connected devices will only reach the internet speed of that limit.
