Your computer starts up, shuts down, then starts again after about two minutes.
Hi guys, I have an issue on my PC that I think I understand why, but I'm trying to find a fix myself. This might already be talked about before, so I don't know how to search for it properly or what the right thing is. My PC had problems with Windows when I first tried installing it. Yesterday I finally managed to upgrade to Windows 11. I took out my hard drive and formatted the SSD. Then I installed Windows 11 on the SSD (I haven't connected the hard drive yet). During the installation and after booting, the computer shut off randomly after a while. (I had PBO enabled, but I turned it off during this process). Since then, I noticed a pattern: The PC shuts off after about two minutes and restarts itself instantly without going through the BIOS, and when I first turn on the PC before it turns off, all icons are white, but everything looks normal after every restart. My theory is that this is related to the checkup (the reset). I thought this because it had a pattern where before formatting the SSD the PC did something like this: Turn on for 5 seconds, then turn off and start again. Now instead of 5 seconds, it takes two minutes. Is there a way to fix it? Can I make it stop sooner or does this mean my RAM is broken or something else? Specs: Motherboard: TUF B450-pro Gaming CPU: Ryzen 7 3700x GPU: RTX 2060 RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro 2X8GB cl18 (I don't remember if it's 3600 or 3800) SSD: Intel 660P 1TB hdd: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5 inches (don't remember the ROM) PSU: Corsair RM650X AIO: DeepCool Castle 240V2 Case: Cooper Master K500 RGB (I know pairing a RTX card with a Ryzen isn't ideal, but it was my first PC and I wanted one, so that's okay). If anyone has any ideas it would be great. If I didn't explain something well, please ask me and I will provide what clarification or information you need. Thank you to everyone <3
Welcome to the forums! Your motherboard is a tuf B450-pro gaming. What BIOS version do you have on your board? Your power supply is a Corsair rm650x. How old is this PSU in your build? Where did you get the installer for the operating system? If I were in your shoes, I would turn off X.M.P/D.O.C.P and PBO but keep BIOS set to UEFI mode (with CSM disabled). Then, wipe the SSD down, reinstall the OS offline, and manually install all necessary drivers using an elevated command, like right-clicking the installer and choosing Run as Administrator. After that's done, go back into BIOS and turn on X.M.P/D.O.C.P again, enable Secure Boot, and set Fast Boot to stay active.
Thanks for asking! I will try that fix. About the BIOS version, I don't remember what was there last time. I installed the newest one I found a month ago or so, but I'll check again when I get back home. For the D.O.C.P., I forgot to turn it off, so I'll try turning it on now. The power supply should be the 2018 model and I have that since my first build. It's almost six years old. I also had the GPU undervolted before, but I forgot to reset it too. But I think it will go back to normal because I did a fresh install with MSI Afterburner.
