My computer is clearly experiencing problems. It mostly occurs when Firefox is active, using a lot of RAM. The issue seems to appear even with just two browser windows and ten tabs open. Previously, I could handle 10 windows and up to 80 tabs without trouble, but now it crashes frequently. I’ve noticed Flash consuming over 1GB at times, while Firefox uses around 1.4GB consistently. My friends use only about 200MB. The resource monitor shows a lot of unused RAM.

I’ve tried running scans in Safe Mode with Networking turned off: Microsoft Security Essentials, SpyBot Search & Destroy, and MalwareBytes all came back clean. This suggests the problem might be related to an infection. I’m considering uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox as a possible fix. Should I also back up bookmarks, including shortcuts in the Bookmark toolbar? Are there other programs I should test? It definitely looks like something is interfering with system stability, making the machine much less pleasant to use.

Restart Firefox to return to its original configuration, or use it in Safe Mode. Next, attempt to view content on YouTube to check your Flash player memory consumption. This should help identify whether the issue stems from Firefox or another application.

Possible issue may indicate a memory leak or related problem; consider running a memory test.

Checking the default settings is straightforward. Here are some tips:
- Look for a section labeled "Defaults" or "Settings."
- If unsure, search for keywords like "default," "settings," or "preferences."
- Adjust them as needed based on your requirements.

Access the Firefox menu, locate the help option, and enable restart without add-ons active.

Sure! That makes sense. No extra charges expected.

Used Google Chrome, encountered the same issues you did before, including malware-related problems.

Chrome is overly dependent on resources and produces identical problems even without infection.

Safari is a quick browser that uses minimal resources. You might want to give it a try.
