Hey everyone, my computer isn’t utilizing all its RAM and I’m not sure what’s causing it.
Everything looks typical to me. Computers don’t behave like mobile phones. From what I understand, mobile devices tend to keep more RAM active all the time. PCs only consume what they actually require. Didn’t realize the 'hardware reserved section' is being used—are you referring to the iGPU?
The 3.18GB capacity listed in system specifications seems unusual. If other solutions aren't working, consider reinserting the RAM modules into a different slot.
Which motherboard? If it's a Gigabyte board, please share a photo of the MIT status menu. I can also send a picture of the board and RAM if you'd like.
his system uses an older processor, and during the second generation setup it restricted RAM allocation for the GPU to just one gigabyte, which is significantly higher than what it needs.
Additionally, the i7 860 lacks an integrated graphics processor.
The 3Gig RAM being usable is troubling... it seems straightforward, like turning off the IGUP as recommended.
