I have this computer from a thrift shop some time ago. I just got RAM sticks, and someone said you only need the motherboard and RAM to start it up. They also suggested checking if it shows up on the monitor. But I’m not getting any signal at all, even though everything looks fine (the lights are on). I’m a beginner with PCs, so I’m hoping for help.

Check if the HDMI/Displayport cable is linked to the motherboard or the graphics card. The details are a bit unclear from the images. Are you familiar with the PC's specifications?

I tested both the GPU and the motherboard, but they don’t connect. For the specs, here’s what you have: Tomahawk motherboard, 650 GPU with 3080 RAM, 32 GB, PSU Evga 850.

I don’t remember the CPU since I got it second-hand. The machine has a water cooling setup, so I’m hesitant to disassemble it. I could possibly damage it. The motherboard model is B550. Apologies if I chose the wrong one.

I don’t want to disassemble this and I’ve been making it for more than 25 years. It’s fine, just need everything to be accurate. Most AMD AM4 CPUs lack built-in graphics, so you probably won’t see a picture if your HDMI cable is on the motherboard—unless it’s a Ryzen G series model (which does have integrated graphics). Try using one RAM stick and the HDMI/Displayport cable again in the GPU. I’ll be back tomorrow; I’m going to bed at 2 AM here.

Have you explored using HDMI and DP on the 3080? The inclusion of a riser gives me some doubts, though the graphics card being housed inside reassures me.

The issue remains unresolved. The setup isn't displaying anything, and you're using an HDMI connection instead of a DisplayPort connection.

Are you certain the RAM is properly installed? (Warning: avoid testing unless the computer is powered off) Please verify that the 8-pin CPU is connected. I can't see the power cord in the photo. Typically it's found in the top-left area of the motherboard.

Yes, it does. The red light signals a specific action or warning based on your context.
