I recently attempted to install a new RAM module into my PC. My current system is prebuilt and already had some RAM installed. When I tried to add the other stick, the BIOS didn't recognize it. I removed the existing RAM and inserted the new one into the same slot, but the computer failed to power on. Reinserting the old RAM worked, yet the keyboard and mouse wouldn't respond, and the monitor didn't display anything. I managed to install the second RAM stick correctly, but the issue persists. I searched online and found a suggestion to check the red switch near the power cable, though my machine doesn’t have that connection. I’m unsure if there’s another step I should try before visiting a shop. The lights and fans are on, but nothing else works. I’ve tried everything so far—please let me know if anyone can assist. I located my motherboard and checked PCPartPicker to verify RAM compatibility on their site. I have an Intel 15 processor and a 1660 Super GPU. My ASRock motherboard is unclear, but I think it's the same model as before. I purchased a Corsair 8GB stick of RAM, which appears identical to the previous one—just white and black versions. The specific RAM I have is a Crucial Ballistix 3200 MH DDR4 8GB module.
It's a cyberpower pc. If anyone has any input that would be great.
