Tech details initialized: CPU model 5800X, motherboard ASUS TUF X570, RAM 32GB spread across four Vulcan DDR4 3600 sticks. Graphics card is an EVGA RTX 3070 XC3 Ultra with 8GB memory. Storage setup includes a Crucial MX500 2TB 3D NAND SATA SSD (up to 560MB/s), a second SSD from Samsung 980 PRO PCIe NVMe Gen4 M.2, and a black Corsair RMX RM750x power supply rated 750W with Gold certification. The system runs Linux on Pop OS version 22.04. The machine failed to boot after a restart, remaining unresponsive for about ten minutes while waiting in Discord. Various troubleshooting steps were attempted: checking cables, power cycling, removing RAM sticks, resetting the GPU, and even swapping to an ASUS GTX1650. The motherboard displays both VGA and boot LEDs. After extensive disassembly, the issue was resolved by replacing the power supply, GPU, and motherboard. Some components were reused from previous builds, while others were new. The process involved multiple modifications and replacements to get the system operational.

I'm new to PopOS. Do you notice the bootloader? Yes? Your kernel update caused issues, try a different one. If it conflicts with NVIDIA drivers, turn off the GPU and resolve it, then reinstall the drivers and switch back to graphical mode. Restore the bootloader if needed. If you manage to enter BIOS/UEFI, the problem lies with the bootloader during the update. Fixing this will require troubleshooting, but you'll likely need to use the USB installer again, boot from a live USB, mount your disks and change into chroot. Roll back any updates if possible and restart to see if it works. Refer to the support guide at the provided link.

Another update on using the CPU for my uncle's machine (5700g) and the motherboard (b550 Asus Tuff). I tried both CPUs on both motherboards and the Ebay motherboard (b550 Asus Tuff). I encountered CPU errors for both CPUs and a RAM error on my motherboard. I switched RAM sticks in all four slots but it didn<|pad|> to remain unresolved. I’m really frustrated with the Ebay seller. I think I have two dead motherboards, but I’m not sure yet—maybe one from Ebay and one from my original (5800x). I haven’t received any messages from them. Usually there’s a black screen and error lights. Thanks for your help, JogerJ.

I just sent my x570 motherboard to ASUS for an RMA because it was under warranty; I had to pay $25 for shipping, and I’m hoping it gets fixed. I also returned the board from the eBay seller and will be searching for another one for my uncle.

I received the motherboard again and they repaired it. They only mentioned they couldn't locate a problem and updated the BIOS. I really wish this doesn’t repeat. I don’t even have my original case or some of the screws, and they didn’t return it, so I can’t send it back if I run into more issues.
