My laptop is actually quite capable (sorry for the awkward phrasing). It has an RTX 2060, an I7 9th Gen processor, and 16 gigabytes of RAM. At the beginning of 2020, I could play GTA 5 online smoothly at 150 frames per second with all settings enabled. After deleting it and reinstalling in November for a submarine update, my performance dropped significantly. Initially, I got around 30-40 FPS even on the lowest settings, but it shifted to 50-60 in some areas and reached 70-80 during Cyberpunk runs. Despite updating everything, reinstalling drivers, and playing multiple times, the issue persists. My system temperatures stay between 70 and 85 degrees, which seems normal. I’ve checked forums and watched many YouTube tutorials, but nothing changed. I’m not sure if a specific setting is causing the problem or if there’s another factor at play. I don’t want to reset the PC, so I really need your help. Thank you!
The update speed is currently lower overall. However, it’s crucial not to compare your system’s performance to GTA Online. The game often struggles with less than 60 frames due to nearby players or general server delays trying to maintain synchronization. As long as your hardware stays within a 10% error range on local benchmarks, the issue is largely beyond your control.
eventually it’s confusing to see how someone with less power performs better than you despite those differences.
