My computer is producing a repetitive clicking noise roughly every five seconds. I think the hard drive might be the issue, but I ran Windows diagnostics on it and everything looked normal. The odd part is that the noise disappears completely when using the drive, even during normal tasks like watching videos or copying files. However, when the drive is nearly full, it also emits a low "tzzzzz" sound, especially under heavy usage. It was model MG04ACA400N, it returned after about 20 minutes, then disappeared again after roughly 5 minutes.

The system propels the actuator heads toward a specific landing spot to prevent harm to the platters or heads. The heads rest in their assigned landing area below them. In some older models, the heads are positioned upright near the spindle within an empty section of the platters.
Every five seconds... honestly, it’s not looking good. The system might be failing soon. If I were in charge, I’d double-check my backups and get a new drive as soon as possible. While the drive is active you might notice some movement or sounds, but if it’s just sitting there quietly making noise, it likely isn’t in good shape.
