Hi everyone, I’m new around here but I’m trying to figure this out. I bought a new desktop from someone who said it was a power supply problem, so I picked it up cheaply and replaced the PSU. Everything started working fine, but when I tried to connect my monitor, nothing appeared on the screen. It’s been happening for a few hours now, and I’m really confused. I’ve already tried several things: checked RAM, cleaned the motherboard, swapped RAM sticks, unplugged cords (except CPU fan), cleaned with a dry cloth, verified compatibility, inspected for bent pins, reset CMOS twice, and looked for damage. I even used a magnifying glass and good lighting. The BIOS booted once while adjusting RAM, but it stuck on the bios screen and wouldn’t let me interact with anything, though the keyboard worked and fans spun normally. I managed to get into BIOS last night after removing all cords, but it didn’t work again. Some people say it’s a motherboard issue, others CPU, some say RAM. My RAM runs fine on another machine, so I’m not sure what’s wrong. I’m starting to lose hope and don’t want to waste parts if there’s anything I can do. If you have any ideas or suggestions, please let me know—I’d really appreciate it!

The board features an asrock H170A-X1 CPU paired with an Intel i7 7700 Lexar 500GB SSD and 16GB HyperX Fury RAM. The power supply includes Corsair 750E, and the CMOs battery is connected via a power connector. The socket shows signs of wear; old thermal paste is visible, suggesting it may be outdated.
