Your computer is acting up, but I'm not sure what's causing it!
Hey everyone! I’ve been upgrading my PC a few years back, but I’ve been facing some persistent issues lately. Over time, I’ve tried to track down the cause, but things are getting worse. I usually play games at low settings, yet I’m still struggling with consistent frame rates. Some titles like Call of Duty work fine, but I’d love to enjoy higher quality without sacrificing performance. Other games, such as Destiny 2, drop significantly—30 to 60 frames when things are busy. I also stream and want smooth play even at low settings, but it’s not working well. I’m pretty sure my current specs aren’t the issue, and it’s been happening for a while now. It’s frustrating because I could previously run Destiny 2 above 60 frames. I don’t have any spare parts to test, so I’m looking for advice or fixes that could help. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
You could be experiencing thermal issues. Have you checked if your CPU and GPU are operating smoothly without any delays?
You're using a wide monitor with a resolution of 2560x1080, but it's running at 60Hz. When streaming, you need to switch to 1920x1080 to fit the content for your audience.
Checking temperatures and clocks separately. If not live streaming, system should still operate normally.
You could run performance checks by monitoring system resources and frame rates during operation. Use profiling tools to identify bottlenecks and compare them with expected speeds. Additionally, benchmarking against known workloads can help you assess whether the application is behaving as intended.
It seems the issue might be related to your CPU. If it were a GPU problem, lowering the settings wouldn't have improved the frame rate and would likely cause more frame drops. What model of CPU are you using?
Ryzen Master displays power, clock speeds, and temperatures. MSI Afterburner can track GPU performance.
