Your computer is rebooting unexpectedly now, sometimes even before you open Windows. You recently upgraded your motherboard, CPU, RAM, and GPU. Previously, the problem stemmed from inconsistent 12V and 5V power delivery, which caused the system to shut down abruptly. On your old setup, you disabled the 12V and 5V regulators, but with this new board it works fine. Now it just restarts. Occasionally, even when everything seems normal, it shuts down unexpectedly. The FPS cap usually doesn’t affect stability, but removing it causes shutdowns even in BIOS. Your components are new: an i5-12400F, MSI B760M-P DDR4, Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16GB 3600MHz, and a GTX 1080 Ti from ASUS Strix OC. You're likely dealing with a failing power supply unit. Get it checked by the manufacturer or consider getting a replacement if the warranty is gone.

Besides connecting a few pins to verify functionality, I’m not aware of any methods to diagnose PSUs without having an alternative available.

The power source functions properly in my old computer; everything operates smoothly, including the 1080 Ti. It seems the issue isn't with the power supply itself.

I don't entirely follow what you mean here, but from what your saying: all I see is a PSU that has had issues with both motherboards it has been plugged into, which to me suggests it is a broken unit and needs replacing. It is possible I'm wrong and it is both motherboards that are bad (or something else) but the most likely culprit imo is the PSU.

I misunderstood the situation. I attempted it with my old motherboard setup, CPU, RAM, and new GPU, and it functioned properly, but it didn’t work with the newer motherboard combination.
