I'm just starting out with computers and got this one from my sister-in-law at a great price. But I'm running into problems. My monitor keeps saying it can't get input, and the GPU fans are blowing loudly. I did a stress test on the GPU for 20 minutes and ran a memory test to check RAM. I think my power supply might be failing, but I'm not sure. I've also tried connecting different HDMI and display cables, using another monitor, and even reset the system. I've done a hard reset and reinstalled Windows. I could really use some guidance here. Any tips would be appreciated.
You could remove your GPU and rely on Igpu to check if the same problem occurs.
The PC stops showing content when it detects inactivity. Windows allows you to adjust display settings separately from game settings, meaning you can set a lower resolution for the operating system while keeping the game at a higher one. If the monitor automatically powers off after a short period of inactivity, it may cease displaying. You can manage these options through the Windows Control Panel under Power Options. Adjusting the plan settings will reveal the inactivity threshold used by the monitor. Differences in GPU capabilities can cause temporary blank screens when switching resolutions, which is usually harmless.
Update the BIOS and keep everything in auto mode. Adjust the resizable bar and secure boot settings. Set RAM and other components to auto. Test it and turn on XMP in BIOS.
occurs unpredictably, occasionally following 2 hours of play, other times it doesn't occur and at other times it happens after just 10 minutes
BIOS has been updated with XMP support. I’ll check the resizable bar and confirm secure boot is active.
