It often works with the right processor, but it uses a lot more power through the ATX connector than suggested. I think the power supply is likely the issue.

I own an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X, EVGA 1070 SC, Corsair 16 GB RAM, Corsair RM850, and the RM850 is brand new.

Confirming the details. Are you certain you're using the right 8-pin cable, or could it be a PCIe 8-pin connection? It shouldn't fit naturally, though it's technically doable.

The PSU cable has a CPU label, so I believe it's the correct one.
