Heya peeps im coming atcha with a huge issue my pc wont turn on. Let me explain. I got my wifi m.2 chip today in the mail and i as you do wanted to install it into my pc. So i turnd the pc off, turned the psu off, unplugged it and held the power button for a few seconds. Now before i started removing my gpu to get to the m.2 slot i noticed a ram stick slightly out of line so i pushed it in until it clicked. Then got the gpu out and installed the m.2 wifi chip. And now the issues start. I have an Asrock B650M-HDV/M.2 motherboard, 9600x, 2x16gb 6400mhz GSkrill Ripjaws S5, Gigabyte 3070 gaming oc, 500gb Kingston A2000, 8tb seagate baracuda hdd and a 750w gigabyte UD gold. After getting the chip installed i put the gpu back normally and plugged it back to power turned my psu on and pressed the power button. Then nothing but a click. (Ofc the installation of said chip was done outside the case and all the cables were plugged back in properly) I started troubleshooting. Maybe i missed a cable, maybe they arent fully plugged in, maybe its the wifi chip?, nothing then i removed a ram stick. Poof turned on. I said okay weird plugged the 2nd one in and the first one out nothing put the first back in and the 2nd out nothing. Thats weird you just turned on. I tried that for a few more times but nada nothing. Now is there something i can do or is my only option getting a new mobo and ram?

Since the RAM was moved, it may have taken some time to update. Try resetting the CMOS. If it starts afterward, allow it to rest and retrain its memory before entering BIOS.

In your board's manual, it says that one stick should be placed in B1. Did you always do that? When you said that originally it needed to be pushed in (which you noticed when installing the M.2 wifi card), did your PC correctly identify all of your memory (32GB) before that moment, or is there a possibility that it never did and the stick was always loose? What speed was the memory set to run? Did it have XMP/EXPO enabled? The reason I'm asking is that 6400 is a high speed for AMD (at least, if running at a 1:1 ratio) and I'm wondering if it never had 2 sticks working. Silly question, but you're sure the M.2 card went in the wifi (Key-E) slot, right?

I ran the CMOS this morning before heading to work. After coming back home, I put it back in after installing the GPU and tried to boot up once the PSU was on for 15 minutes. I’ll update later.

Updated quickly, restored the CMOS. Let the PC cool while the PSU stays on for 30 minutes. No sound, nothing changed like before.

It seems the power button doesn't respond when pressed. Have you considered using a screwdriver to adjust the pins on the motherboard? There could be an issue with a short circuit, preventing it from turning on. In the worst scenario, the motherboard or another part might be damaged.

At this stage you should extract everything from the case, then run bench tests with minimal setup and add a component, test again. It might be shorting against the case somehow. I've experienced this before due to a loose screw (in the PC, not in my mind).

Maybe the antenna on the M.2 chip is the reason it’s compact.

Then verify performance with the least amount of RAM, and gradually increase it while adding components. It's about basic PC troubleshooting—cut out as many factors as possible and then reintroduce them carefully.
