Among thousands of film folders, this one appears grayed out. Its file attributes show it as hidden, but it still turns back to visible when unchecked. I've also tested this with a movie file instead of a folder, but it didn't help. Any suggestions?

Yes, they're likely hiding names that begin with a period, a common Unix convention.

Shift files to a different location. Remove the existing folder if needed. Create a new folder there. Return the contents to the updated place. If deletion fails, check for software that might be using it.

Select the folder, then go to Properties. Uncheck hidden items, proceed to the Advanced tab, apply changes, and confirm by clicking OK. A confirmation dialog will ask for admin rights—grant it and click OK again. Your folder should now appear visible.
