Your Bluetooth connection has unexpectedly disappeared.
My Alienware laptop with Windows 10 version 22h2 lost its Bluetooth connection. The driver file disappeared, and an unknown USB device triggered an error about a failed descriptor request. After restarting, removing the suspicious USB and downloading a driver from Dell didn’t resolve the issue. The troubleshooter claimed I lacked a Bluetooth device, which seems incorrect. A video suggested deleting all Universal Serial Bus controller drivers, including hidden ones, and mentioned waiting after shutdown before powering on. Should I remove both active and hidden drivers? Is unplugging the charger necessary, and can I simply restart after driver removal instead of waiting?
restarting the PC has no effect under the default settings in Windows 10, so turn it off completely and then back on—essentially a full shutdown. Just reinstall the driver without deleting anything; if it's the Bluetooth driver, proceed as instructed. Avoid uninstalling unless you're certain. Also, consider sending a service status to help identify the issue.
I don't have a Bluetooth driver installed and it disappeared. Here’s the list of drivers: https://i.imgur.com/0wK51jG.png The solution in the video is to remove the Intel USB 3.1 extensible host controller driver, which should clear the universal serial bus driver issue. I currently have one active Intel USB 3.1 extensible host controller driver and another hidden one. Should I uninstall the active one so I can follow the same steps as in the video?
The BT adapter is either causing a poor connection or it’s no longer working. That’s the opposite of what you meant.
