In the final weeks of 2014 I decided to share my thoughts on this year's favorite releases. It had to fit certain criteria—released in 2014, whether AAA or indie, any genre and platform. I came across a few standouts: Wolfenstein TNO, Alien Isolation, Shadow Of Mordor, Titanfall (online), and COD AWs SP campaign. The exo suit and its vertical design gave the game a fresh feel, making it distinct from previous titles and something I really enjoyed playing for the first time since my early days.

I really don't have much to say about it. Among the titles released this year, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare stands out as my top pick. My friend and I tried it on his 360 setup together, and I racked up over 150 kills while he managed around 50. That was my first experience with it. I only lost about five times during roughly an hour of gameplay. He... Around twenty.

Bayonetta 2 on the WiiU was quite enjoyable, and Super Smash Bros WiiU is also a solid choice. In the indie world, I’d recommend The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth.

It would be a thrilling SMITE experience (third-person shooter MOBA). They debuted this year (March 25, 2014) and their 2015 Smite Word Championship prize pool (January 8, 2015), funded by players, is approaching $2 billion. The game offers a strong pro scene, along with solid casual and ranked options. Gameplay remains consistently engaging and captivating. HiRes, the developer, appears to have improved from previous titles like Tribes through regular updates and rewarding content. Although it faces criticism for matchmaking issues due to its smaller player base compared to the top two titles (LoL and DotA2), the overall experience remains enjoyable. Once you reach level 30, the game feels less toxic, and the fun continues regardless of outcome.

Still unsure about it. I haven’t played many new releases this year. I ended up going back to older titles, and most of what could have been spent on Witcher 2 or Watch Dogs would have gone toward the release that didn’t go well.

I haven't engaged with any titles from 2014. I don't have a perspective on them!

Perhaps I'm aging but the emphasis highlights key points. I think I missed playing many games from 2014, so I'd appreciate seeing others' recommendations. It might help me decide what to buy during the next Steam promotion.
