Returning to Vista isn't a wise move—it's definitely a bad choice.

It seems your Windows 7 HPC 64-bit version is causing issues because it's running on a 32-bit system.

Get a 64-bit version of Windows, version 7 will work, but I'm not sure about version 10. Proceed with the installer, though it may erase all data on the disk.

Windows 10 seems to be the better choice compared to Windows 7, and it runs smoother.

the only upgrade available for win 7 is a cramped version, and I can't install it on a disc.
