I changed to Windows 10 yesterday and today it updated. I had 10 gigabytes of free space on the local drive C, but now I only have 2.5 gigabytes left. I selected all folders and checked their properties—shouldn’t there be more available?

Can't provide a direct answer, but try using the built-in Disk Clean-Up feature, select Clean System Files, and remove Windows Update installers. These steps may free significant space. Remember, you can't uninstall those updates afterward.

After a major update such as 22H1 to 22H2, there is a Windows.old directory available, which you can tidy up with the disk cleanup utility.

Additionally, software exists to verify available disk capacity such as WinDirStat and SpaceSniffer.
