I just tested my friend's Oculus Quest 2 and thought about getting one for myself. I’m hoping it will work with my PC using the Oculus Link, but I have two issues. First, my PC doesn’t have USB-C ports, and second, my GPU model, the 6500 XT, isn’t supported. Any ideas on how to fix these? Thanks!
The Oculus Quest 2 includes built-in components that work until you upgrade to a GPU. The 6500XT isn’t strong enough to run VR games smoothly without causing discomfort. I suggest going with the 6600XT or the 3060/3060 Ti. Both are nearing their MSRP.
there are significant variations in this setup. The index requires a much higher resolution, which means greater GPU demands per frame. I was running at a lower resolution setting to boost the frame rate. Additionally, individuals have different tolerances for discomfort, so some might handle it better than others.
On a board featuring gen 4 support, it functions "adequately"—meaning it's not as strong as cards from 5–6 years prior, but it's still in line with typical performance for its time.
I'm not sure if that's the best option, but I aim for a seamless feel. High quality and smooth performance are key. Also, we're uncertain about whether he has the latest version. If not, he should consider an upgrade for VR; even if it doesn't seem necessary right now, it could be useful later.
I'm using a PCI Gen 4 card with a 5600x slot. That should help. Thanks for all the suggestions! I'll give it a shot and find out.
