I believe you own a solid machine suitable for your son’s Fortnite sessions. For more demanding titles, upgrading your setup would be beneficial. Does the budget cover around 1000 pounds? What are you planning to use the PC for?

Thanks for the input @boggy77! I matched your choice well. I was focusing on the Ryzen 5 3600x. With a 512GB Samsung SSD, I can upgrade to my current setup and add more space for my son’s 1TB drive, which could help me save some money—perhaps for other uses.

This could be a low-effort question, but it might still be worthwhile considering an AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1920X. It could be useful for future upgrades to a different CPU model later on.

You'd need to use a Threadripper 1000 or 2000 for that. If you want extra cores without all the perks, a 3950X could be an option. Alternatively, a Ryzen 4000 might offer even more cores and performance.

It's tough, but there might be a way to upgrade to a 4000 once it comes out. Just keep in mind, it could be tricky timing with your birthday coming up.

The motherboard is the Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS ATX AM4. RAM comes from Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro, 32 GB total. The graphics card is the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER with 6 GB VRAM. The case recommended is the NZXT H510 ATX mid tower. The PSU is the Corsair RM 750W, Gold Certified. All prices are shown with shipping and taxes included. This total comes to £1220.66.
