Hey there! I see you're dealing with a tricky setup issue. It sounds like you've got an old HDD in your new laptop, but the drive is corrupted and won't boot properly. Since it's Ubuntu, you might want to try formatting it again or using a recovery tool. If you're unsure, reaching out to a tech support person or checking online forums for similar cases could help. Let me know if you need more guidance!

Ensure the problematic drive isn't in the boot sequence. Disconnect it if needed. Verify its presence in the boot list.

That's correct. The device isn't detected on the grub repair screen.

No device available for connection. Concern about the boot drive labeling affecting future issues?

I've attempted to manually restart the drive each time I power on, yet it keeps redirecting to the grab repair.

Use a Linux live USB and reset the problem drive by removing all partitions, likely just the boot sector left.

This seems like a tricky issue—what’s the right way to figure out which components to clear?

GRUB is the primary boot manager for Linux systems, and if your laptop uses Ubuntu, that’s likely the cause of the issue. It’s clear from your setup that only one drive supports Linux, so you might have overlooked the boot partition.
