You should use two DIMM RAM sticks.
Hi, I'm looking to upgrade my PC by adding new RAM. I have a motherboard with two DDR4 slots and want to decide between a single 32 GB stick or two 16 GB sticks. My main needs are for Blender and other rendering tasks that handle large scenes. I noticed few people mention dual-channel setup on two DIMMs, especially for this configuration. CPU: Intel Core i5 7400, current RAM 8 GB, graphics Intel HD Graphics 630.
When preparing large scenes, will 32GB suffice? The motherboard might advertise 32GB as the upper limit, but this is usually just what they could test back then since 32GB drives weren’t available. It could still function better than that. Make sure you only test it if your seller offers a solid return policy in case it doesn’t meet expectations.
