My PC setup includes a Ryzen 7 5800X3D with overclocking (neg 30 across all cores), a 100PPT CPU, and a 70TDC GPU. The RTX 4060 Ti is paired with 8GB of Gigabyte Eagle OC RAM. I use Corsair Dominator as my RAM module, which is a 16GB DDR4 3600 CL18 MOBO unit. My storage consists of a WD Black SN 850x2TB SSD and an ASUS B550 F gaming SSD. The power supply is an Asus Thor 850P 80+ Platinum cooler, housed in a BEQUIET PureBase 500X case.
I primarily play older titles such as BFV, BF1, Star Wars Battlefront II, Fortnite, Battlefield 2042, Elden Ring, and Overwatch 2. I also enjoy a variety of games, though newer releases don’t always impress me. In BFV at ultra settings, I achieve around 140-160 FPS, while lower settings give 160-180 FPS. At low settings, it drops to roughly 160-180 FPS, and in high action scenes it can fall to 90-120 FPS. Other games seem to perform more consistently.
I'm confused about your concern. You seem to be experiencing issues with performance. Generally, computers either function well or don't work at all. Except for thermal throttling, you should see the expected speed. Unlike cars, computers don't degrade in performance over time due to dirt or wear. Your machine will either run or not. If you achieve over 100 FPS in a game, that's the level you should expect. Performance in games rarely drops to just 80% of what it should be. Even if it did, you're still getting great results and don't need to worry. If your main concern is minor dips like from 170 to 120 FPS during intense moments, that's normal and not a problem.
