I’ve finally got my PC, and I have a few questions about essential software for maintenance, monitoring, and care. Should I benchmark it? Is Malwarebytes the only reliable free anti-malware? I used to have one on my laptop too—it kept showing “your trial has expired” while I was playing a game. Any free tips or suggestions would be appreciated :3

The anti-malware package for Windows works well, though it isn't essential. However, the MSI mobile download tool is not necessary.

You don't have to test it, but it's always enjoyable. Start by installing CCleaner and Malwarebytes; together with Windows Defender they should effectively protect your system. The most useful approach is to run scans regularly—every few days—to ensure your hardware stays optimized. If you have any concerns, just let me know. I've handled many virus-affected PCs over the years.

CCleaner for cleaning junk and registry issues, Malwarebytes for malware detection, HWMonitor to check temperatures and voltages, CPU-Z for CPU, memory, RAM, and graphics details, Unigine Valley for benchmarking, Unigine Heaven for older benchmarks, Cinebench for CPU and GPU performance testing, AIDA 64 for specs, benchmarking, comparisons, and stress tests (recommended paid version), PRIME 95 for OC stress testing and stability. Motherboard utilities available from manufacturers' sites, Catzilla as a paid benchmarking tool, 3D-Mark for benchmarking, Tech Power GPU-Z for GPU info and benchmarks. I can adjust if you have more options.

Ugh, Windows Defender... I wouldn't suggest it to anyone except maybe my grandma or someone I don't like. Better options are AVAST, Webroot, or Kaspersky—though I'm not very familiar with them. Enjoy the installation!

Gpu-Z includes an internal benchmark. I wasn't aware of it before.

Microsoft Security Essentials or the native feature in Windows 8 (Windows Defender) functions effectively and uses minimal resources.

I really appreciate Windows Defender—it's unobtrusive, and based on my experience, it performs very effectively.

It's not particularly unique. The purpose is to verify that the specifications are adjusted from the original to the current ones.
