Consider the cost in light of your needs. If you often need Vertical Synchronization due to hardware limitations, the extra expense might be justified. My perspective is that the performance gains aren’t always noticeable, especially since my setup already handles higher refresh rates smoothly.
It’s accurate that the 1650 is built for speed in OEM prebuilt units without power cables. It seems overpriced despite being the top seller thanks to that feature. OEM prebuilts lack PCIe 4 support and can’t even get it. There’s a puzzling point about why it’s so costly. All they had to do was add four extra lanes on the comb. Would that have been a huge expense? They turned what could have been a profitable opportunity into a loss. Edited September 7, 2022 by Bombastinator
Question it. Pcie3.0 isn’t Pcie4 or Pcie5 yet—Nvidia hasn’t released a PCIe4 or PCIe5 card. Just make sure the motherboard has enough lanes for it, but someone’s been stuck on this for years. You’d expect the 5500 to catch up, but clearly not. They kept pushing forward. Edited September 7, 2022 by Bombastinator
