Do you know if G.Skill Trident Z Neo RGB supports your Ryzen 3 3200G with a GA-A320m-H motherboard? Your friend is offering his 8x2 RAM at a discount, but there’s no clear information on compatibility on the official site.

It varies with the kit's velocity; the 3200G is built for 2nd Gen Ryzen, so typically it supports up to 3200Mhz, but stability on the A320 board isn't guaranteed at that rate.

The Memory Controller is situated on the CPU, which means the RAM speed it supports relies on that component. The quality of the PCB traces on the motherboard also plays a role, although I believe 3200Mhz would work well on an A320.

It could cause issues if your A320 doesn't support the frequency. Running it at 3200MHz might lead to performance problems or hardware stress.

If xmp isn't compatible, the system may restart several times before resetting your BIOS defaults. You'll need to adjust the RAM speed yourself until it becomes consistent (commonly 2933 MHz).

No harm will be caused to your equipment; it may become unstable or fail completely, though it’s unlikely to malfunction right out of the box. Most DDR4 modules operate at JEDEC standards, typically between 2133Mhz and 2400Mhz. To achieve the listed speed, you need to activate XMP/DOCP in your BIOS settings. This adjustment might affect performance, but you can still use it manually by lowering the frequency to around 3000Mhz.

Thanks for the advice. This XMP/DOCP topic is unfamiliar to me, so I'll look it up. Appreciate your support!

XMP/DOCP is a predefined overclock setting from the maker. Anything above 2133/2400Mhz (or JEDEC) is treated as an overclock, and to set RAM to 3200Mhz you need to activate that profile—it’s usually turned off by default, so you must enable it yourself.
