I inquire since I'm repeatedly attempting to upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10, but it keeps failing and resets back to Windows 7 around 72% to 75% during the final setup. I've tried numerous solutions: clean boot, Windows Update Troubleshooter, disabled non-MS services, ran a clean disk, disconnected devices, removed all non-MS AV software, used a local non-domain account. Despite these efforts, I consistently encounter the error 0x8007042b - 0x3000d, indicating a background service is causing the issue. Now I'm prepared to install Windows 10 from scratch, but I need assurance I have the Digital Entitlement. If the installation process actually starts, does that confirm I possess a valid license? If not, I won't be able to install Windows 10 properly. Additionally, why does Microsoft insist on re-downloading the 3.3GB image each time I restart after a failed attempt? With only DSL and slow speeds—about 30 minutes for download and another 30 minutes for checks—I find it inefficient. Could you suggest an alternative approach?
