You can record up to 4K frames without using the FX 8350. Any GPU works fine.

Ah I dont think that supports it Your best idea would be OBS with intel quicksync - there is a tutorial on the forum somewhere - you could also look into DXTory with the lagarith lossless codec

I understand, shadowplay is awesome, but the GTX 960 is really pricey for me... I hope it drops in price soon.

Bf4 runs smoothly at around 75 frames per second, and the recording maintains that speed as well.

AMD offers comparable options on their cards, and with an Intel CPU, you can utilize OBS and quicksync.
